Terms of use
The short version: this site describes what we trade, but it is not a price list and nothing on it binds either of us. A deal is made in a written quotation and a tax invoice, not on a web page.

These terms
This website is published by Shree Shyam Metals, a proprietorship at New Delhi – 110042, India. By browsing it or sending an enquiry through it you accept the terms set out on this page. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Nothing here is an offer
The pages of this site describe what we recycle and how a lot is handled, in general terms. They are not an offer to buy, an offer to sell, or a quotation, and no price is published anywhere on this site.
Recovery figures, grades, unit counts and turnaround times are indicative. A catalytic converter is a variable object — two units off the same model can assay differently — and the platinum, palladium and rhodium markets move daily, so what a lot actually contains, and what it is worth, is settled lot by lot on the assay. A contract between us comes into existence only when we issue a written settlement proposal or quotation, you confirm it, and a tax invoice is raised. The terms in those documents prevail over anything on this website.
Quotations
A quotation or settlement proposal we send you is valid only for the period stated on it, and only for the lot and the assay it names. It assumes the material is still available and unaltered when you confirm, and it is subject to the platinum, palladium and rhodium prices prevailing at the time stated unless it says otherwise in as many words. Where a lot is settled against an assay, our confirmation follows the assay, not the enquiry.
Regulated material
Spent catalytic converters and the material recovered from them are regulated in India. Their handling, storage, transport, processing and export are governed by the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 and the Motor Vehicles (Registration and Functions of Vehicle Scrapping Facility) Rules, 2021, among others.
If you are selling converters to us, you are responsible for having acquired them lawfully and for holding every registration, authorisation and consent the law requires for the material while it is in your hands, and for producing evidence of them on request. We buy only from parties who can. Converter theft is a real problem in this trade and we decline material whose origin cannot be accounted for.
Vehicle makes and models
Converters are sometimes described by the vehicle they came out of, so that the type of unit is clear. Those names belong to their respective manufacturers and are used here only to identify the origin and type of the material accurately. We are not an authorised dealer, agent or partner of any vehicle manufacturer, and nothing on this site should be read as a claim that any of them endorse us or are connected with us.
Accuracy
We keep this site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that every statement on it is complete or free of error, and content may be corrected or changed without notice.
The tax classification a consignment is invoiced under is stated on the quotation and on the invoice itself. Nothing on this site is tax advice — satisfy yourself of the correct classification for your own returns.
The site itself
The text, photographs, layout, logo and code of this website belong to us or are used under licence, and may not be copied, republished or used to build another site without our written permission. You are of course welcome to print or share pages for your own business use.
Please do not scrape the site for resale, attempt to disrupt it or gain unauthorised access to it, or use the enquiry form to send us unsolicited marketing.
Links out
Where we link to another site — our IndiaMART listing, our Facebook page — we do not control it and we are not responsible for its content or its practices.
Liability
This website is provided as it is. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information published here, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects the terms of an actual contract of sale between us, which stand on their own.
Privacy
How we handle the details you send through the enquiry form is set out in our privacy policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them, or out of your use of this website.
